What if you're not actually "bad at relaxing"?

Hi Reader,

I spent two hours rage-cleaning my house.

Not because it needed it.

Because I couldn't sit still.

I told myself I was "being productive."

But if I'm honest...

I was avoiding the discomfort of doing... nothing.

The house looked great.

I still felt prickly.

It turns out scrubbing counters doesn't scrub energy.

That morning uncovered something I hadn't fully seen before...

I can't access a true state of leisure if I haven't first cleared my energy.

The body knows.

And it can't be tricked.

Have you ever finally had a free afternoon...

...and instead of enjoying it, you started thinking about everything else you should be doing?

The laundry.

That email you forgot to answer.

The project you could get ahead on.

The closet you've been meaning to organize.

You finally have permission to rest...

...but somehow, resting feels wrong.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.

I've been running a little experiment this summer that I'm calling my Leisure Lab.

What started as an attempt to simply slow down has uncovered a lot more than I expected—including:

  • Why I thought rest had to be earned
  • The surprising relationship between doing and being
  • And why changing just one word has completely shifted the way I approach my days

I shared the biggest lessons (so far) in my latest blog post.

I'd love to know what resonates with you.

For most of my life, I thought I was just the person who cared the most. The one who remembered everything. The one who planned ahead. The one who checked in. The one who stayed late. The one who made sure everyone had what they needed. I wore it like a badge of honor. I told myself it was because I was responsible. Thoughtful. Dependable. A good leader. A good friend. A good human. But there was one thing I couldn't figure out. If I was doing all of these things because I genuinely cared......

Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how many high-achieving women walk around believing they’re the only ones struggling with self-doubt, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the constant pressure to hold it all together. The truth? Many of the women you admire most are carrying the exact same internal weight. The polished executive. The confident founder. The woman who always seems composed, capable, and grounded. So often, behind the scenes, she’s still: Overthinking what she...

Hey Reader, There’s a version of you who already knows exactly what to do. She’s not overthinking every decision. She’s not rehearsing every conversation. She’s not wondering how she’s coming across. She just… moves. Speaks. Decides. Leads. From a place of self-trust. Most high-achieving women don’t struggle with capability. They struggle with trusting themselves enough to act on what they already know. So instead of moving forward, they pause. Analyze. Second-guess. And over time, that...
